Important Facts

A number of interesting facts underscore the history and legacy of the Constituent Assembly. For instance, an elephant was chosen as its seal, while Sir B.N. Rau served as its constitutional (legal) advisor. H.V.R. Iyengar was the Assembly’s secretary, and S.N. Mukerjee played a key role as the chief draftsman.
