The real executive authority in a state, analogous to the Prime Minister at the national level. They advise the Governor on ministerial appointments and legislative matters. A successful Chief Minister maintains legislative support, fosters development, and addresses local challenges. Coalition politics or strong opposition can constrain governance. The CM also liaises with central authorities for funds and policy coordination, reflecting the interplay of federal dynamics in India’s governance.
