Pronouns

Subject: English

Book: English Grammar

**Pronouns** are words that replace nouns so you don’t have to keep repeating the same name or object. Imagine if you had to say “Sam went to Sam’s house and Sam found Sam’s toy,” that sounds silly, right? So we use “he,” “his,” “him.”

### Common Pronouns
- “I,” “you,” “he,” “she,” “it,” “we,” “they.”
- **Example**: “**I** love pizza,” “**She** is my friend.”

### Possessive Pronouns
- Tells who something belongs to: “mine,” “yours,” “his,” “hers,” “ours,” “theirs.”
- **Example**: “That book is **mine**,” “This toy is **his**.”

### Why Use Pronouns?
- **No Repetition**: Instead of “Lisa saw Lisa’s dog,” we say “Lisa saw **her** dog.”
- **Clarity**: Helps the listener/reader know who we’re talking about.

Pronouns make sentences shorter and clearer. Think of them as name-tags that change depending on who or what you’re talking about!
